Burriana is the main event, golden sand, clear water and a full line of chiringuitos, including Ayo's with its famous open-fire paella. Torrecilla is the practical favorite, a short walk from the center with every convenience close by, and El Chucho next door offers the same water with a calmer atmosphere.
The center hides the charmers. Calahonda, just below the Balcón de Europa, is the postcard everyone photographs. El Salón, two hundred meters away, is the quiet local favorite. La Caletilla is a tiny strip by the Hotel Balcón de Europa, and Carabeo sits in its own cozy world under the cliffs, reached by steps from Calle Carabeo.
On the edges it opens up. El Playazo stretches 1.7 kilometers on the western side with free parking and space for everyone even in August. East of town, Maro is regularly rated among the best beaches in southern Spain and is the snorkeling spot, and Cala del Cañuelo, inside the natural park and reached by shuttle, is as unspoiled as this coast gets.
